GIFAS is part of the Rhine Valley Industrial Route

 

 

A hiking trail full of history

On May 10, 2025, the new Rhine Valley Industrial Route was officially opened. Covering over 40 kilometers, the themed hiking trail between Rheineck and Rüthi tells the story of how the Rhine Valley has developed from a poor floodplain to one of the most innovative and export-oriented regions in Europe.

We at GIFAS-ELECTRIC are delighted to be part of this unique project: Our company will be presented on plaque number 1 in Rheineck as one of the region's most prominent companies – together with other personalities who have helped shape the history of the Rhine Valley with their innovative strength.

Experience industrial culture on the hiking trail

The Rhine Valley Industrial Trail is more than just a beautiful mountain trail. It combines exercise in nature with exciting insights into technology, entrepreneurship and regional history. The industrial development of the region is brought to life on 23 image and text panels along the trail, supplemented by videos, audio documents and drone recordings. Social topics such as vocational training, the role of women and the connection between industry and nature are also covered.

 

A project with head, heart and feet

The project is backed by the Rhine Valley Industrial Trail Association, initiated by three hiking enthusiasts from the Rhine Valley and supported by numerous partners from business, politics and tourism. It quickly became clear to GIFAS-ELECTRIC that we wanted to support this initiative. Because we also stand for future-oriented solutions, rooted in the region – with our headquarters and production site in the middle of Rheineck.
