GIFAS advances its sustainability strategy

Durability insted of replacement.

At GIFAS, sustainability is evolving from individual measures into an integrated strategy. With new expertise, clear processes and reliable data, we are creating transparency for customers, partners and future requirements.

Sustainability is not a new topic at GIFAS. We are already making a significant contribution through photovoltaics, heat pumps, recycling schemes and certified management systems. At the same time, the demands from customers, partners and public tenders for transparent and comparable sustainability data are increasing.

To meet these expectations at an early stage, GIFAS is taking the next step. Since 1 January 2026, the newly created role of Sustainability Manager has been strengthening our organisation. Colin Drach, an in-house expert, has taken on this role and is systematically setting up expertise in key future-oriented topics. These include, amongst others, Life Cycle Assessments (LCA), Environmental Product Declarations (EPD), the Digital Product Passport (DPP), as well as ESG reporting and ESG ratings.
The focus here is on two levels: at the product level, the emphasis is on LCAs and the EPDs based on them. These provide transparency across the entire product life cycle and deliver reliable data for customers, tenders and regulatory requirements.

At the corporate level, GIFAS focuses on ESG reporting and ESG ratings.

Company-wide key performance indicators, management systems and guidelines are systematically recorded and processed to enable a traceable and comparable assessment.

GIFAS is thus consistently advancing its sustainability efforts: from individual measures towards an integrated, data-driven strategy. The aim is to remain credible, transparent and competitive in the long term.

After all, sustainability is not an add-on, but is becoming part of our DNA.
