As direction display for train arrival in the station and for the safety of the rail travellers, the platform illumination of TrafficLED is well visible during the day as well.

Initial situation

The platform at Wilderswil railway station is crossed by rail travellers and schoolchildren en route to the neighbouring schoolhouse. The “Schynige Platte” railway also starts out from Wilderswil station. For safety purposes, platform lighting was specified. This lights up to indicate the direction of travel of a train, and is also clearly visible during daylight hours.

In addition, it was chosen to prevent mechanical damage from being caused by snow-clearing activities. The TrafficLED, with its stainless steel top section, affords the ideal solution for this.
